About the Role

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Warehouse Manager to lead a busy multi-shift distribution operation in London, with full responsibility for warehouse performance, inventory management, team leadership, and operational excellence. This role requires a hands-on leader who can drive KPI performance, optimise processes, and ensure high standards of safety, accuracy, and customer service across a fast-paced logistics environment.

Client Details

Our client is a well-established and growing distribution business based in Wembley operating within the food and FMCG sector. They are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to lead their London distribution centre, overseeing a fast-paced operation that supports a large customer base across the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on operational leader who thrives in a high-volume environment and enjoys taking ownership of performance, people, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Description

As Warehouse Manager, you will have full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the distribution centre in Wembley, leading both day and night shift operations. You will be accountable for operational performance, team leadership, inventory accuracy, customer service levels, and health & safety compliance.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing warehouse operations across day and night shifts.
  • Overseeing goods-in, storage, replenishment, picking, packing, and dispatch activities.
  • Driving operational efficiency, productivity, and order accuracy.
  • Managing inventory control processes and investigating stock discrepancies.
  • Taking ownership of warehouse KPIs, including inventory accuracy, productivity, stock availability, and stock freshness.
  • Managing returns processes and coordinating the accurate processing of credit notes.
  • Leading, coaching, and developing warehouse teams to achieve operational targets.
  • Monitoring performance and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety, food safety, and operational procedures.
  • Working cross-functionally with transport, customer service, procurement, and wider operations teams.
  • Resolving operational issues quickly and effectively while maintaining high service standards.
  • Providing regular performance reporting and operational updates to senior leadership.

Profile

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Proven experience operating at Warehouse Manager or Operations Manager level within a distribution, logistics, or warehouse environment.
  • Experience managing multi-shift warehouse operations.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse KPIs and performance management.
  • Demonstrable experience leading large teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Knowledge of inventory management, stock control, and warehouse management systems.
  • Previous exposure to food, FMCG, retail distribution, or similarly high-volume sectors would be advantageous.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • An analytical and data-driven approach to problem solving.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and system skills.
  • A hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse health & safety requirements.
