The Role:
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for leading the warehouse team and forward-planning people, skills and AV equipment to ensure Delta Live is fully prepared to deliver its upcoming events. You will oversee the preparation, testing, storage, dispatch and return of professional audio, lighting and video equipment, working closely with Operations, Projects, Production and Logistics to ensure the right equipment and technical resource are available at the right time. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong people management, forward planning, technical understanding and operational discipline.
Key Responsibilities:
AV Equipment & Warehouse Operations
- Oversee the preparation, testing, checking, packing, storage, dispatch and return of professional AV equipment.
- Ensure equipment is prepared to the required technical and quality standards, including:
- Audio: PA systems, amplifiers, consoles, microphones, RF, cabling and accessories.
- Lighting: fixtures, control systems, cabling, rigging-related equipment and accessories.
- Video: LED, projection, displays, processors, cameras, signal distribution and associated equipment.
- Ensure equipment is correctly allocated, labelled, packed and recorded against projects.
- Oversee the efficient processing of returned equipment, including checking, cleaning, fault identification and preparation for future use.
- Ensure damaged or faulty equipment is clearly identified and passed into the appropriate repair process.
- Maintain accurate equipment availability and status using HireTrack or similar asset management systems.
- Maintain high standards of warehouse organisation, equipment care and housekeeping.

Team Leadership & Management
- Lead and manage the warehouse team, including permanent and freelance resources.
- Set clear expectations for performance, technical standards, behaviour and accountability.
- Allocate daily workloads and ensure the team is focused on the highest-priority work.
- Manage working hours, holidays, overtime and absence to maintain appropriate staffing levels.
- Identify training and development needs across audio, lighting and video equipment.
- Develop the technical capability of the warehouse team through training, mentoring and practical support.
- Conduct regular one-to-ones, performance reviews and appraisals.
- Build a positive, professional and accountable team culture.
Forward Resource & Equipment Planning
- Maintain a forward view of upcoming projects and warehouse workload.
- Work with Operations, Projects and Production to understand upcoming equipment requirements and preparation deadlines.
- Plan the people, technical skills and working hours required to support the forward workload.
- Ensure the appropriate audio, lighting and video equipment is available, prepared and ready for each project.
- Identify resource or equipment shortages early and arrange additional staff, freelance support or alternative solutions.
- Balance competing project priorities and ensure critical preparation work is completed on time.
- Anticipate peaks in workload and plan staffing and overtime accordingly.
- Highlight capacity issues, equipment constraints and delivery risks to the Operations Director at an early stage.

Communication & Coordination
- Work closely with Operations, Project Managers, Production, Technical and Logistics teams.
- Attend forward planning meetings and provide clear information on equipment availability, preparation capacity and resource requirements.
- Communicate changes in project requirements and priorities clearly to the warehouse team.
- Ensure potential equipment or staffing issues are identified and communicated early.
Health, Safety & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain high Health & Safety standards within the warehouse.
- Ensure the team follows safe working practices for handling, moving, testing and storing AV equipment.
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes, equipment preparation and team productivity.
- Develop and maintain clear SOPs and working practices.
Profile:
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience managing a warehouse, technical operations or logistics team, ideally within AV, live events or technical production.
- Good practical understanding of professional audio, lighting and video equipment.
- Strong people management and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to forward-plan resource against changing workloads and deadlines.
- Experience managing permanent and freelance technical staff.
- Excellent organisation, prioritisation and communication skills.
- Experience with HireTrack or a similar equipment/asset management system is advantageous.
- Calm, practical and solutions-focused under pressure.

Success will mean having a well-led and technically capable warehouse team, with the right people, skills and AV equipment prepared and available ahead of demand. The warehouse should be organised, efficient and proactive, giving the wider business confidence that sound, lighting and video equipment will be ready, correctly prepared and delivered on time for every project.
