Here at GXO, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Warehouse MHE Operative to join our team at our Northampton DC7 site. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to gain MHE experience and obtain an in-house license (initially Reach Truck, however, the opportunity to learn H-Lop, Scissor Lift, and VNA).

You will receive full training from our experienced in-house team, including a fully paid 5-day Reach Truck training course. Following successful completion of the training, you will continue working as an MHE Operative at our site, developing your skills within a fast-paced warehouse environment.

This is a full-time, permanent role, based on any ‘5 out of 7’ working patterns. Shift patterns available 14:00 - 22:00 or 22:00 - 06:00.

Pay, benefits, and more:

  • £12.96 per hour (including Reach Truck allowance)
  • Additional hourly allowances are available depending on your MHE skills: VNA +£0.50 per hour, Reach Truck and Counterbalance +£0.25 per hour, and Scissor Lift +£0.11 per hour.
  • A night shift premium of +£1.00 per hour applies for all hours worked between 6:00 pm – 6:00 am
  • 28 days of holiday pay inclusive of Bank Holidays

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Operate a forklift safely and efficiently within drive-in racking systems
  • Load, unload, and move pallets to designated storage or dispatch areas
  • Ensure accurate stock placement and retrieval following warehouse procedures
  • Carry out daily forklift checks and report any faults or safety issues
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment at all times

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Keen to develop skills and operate MHE equipment following training
  • A reasonable level of physical fitness to meet daily handling duties
  • Confidence using IT systems and basic computer literacy
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in your work
  • Willingness to work in a warehouse environment
