Curveball is a Swansea-based multi-channel business spanning wholesale, e-commerce/retail, marketplaces, collectables, and games publishing. We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to own the performance and continuous improvement of our warehouse operation. The role is currently at Llansamlet, Swansea, and may relocate to another South Wales site in due course. This is a hands-on role covering people, service, site safety/compliance, cost, and improvement.
The Role
- Own the daily operating plan, service performance, labour deployment, priorities, and escalation across the warehouse.
- Lead visibly from the floor: understand the operation first-hand, remove bottlenecks, challenge standards, and support critical workflows when recovery or cover is needed.
- Lead the warehouse team, including recruitment, attendance, performance management, coaching, training, cross-training, and succession/capability planning.
- Own productivity and controllable costs, improving labour efficiency, slotting, storage density, picking efficiency, process flow, overtime, and agency dependency.
- Own site H&S/compliance, including facilities, MHE, racking, contractors, security, and housekeeping, plus warehouse data/evidence for PPT, EPR, and relevant PPWR reporting.
- Lead practical improvement in layout, systems, equipment, and automation, and work with commercial teams to convert future demand into capacity, labour, skills, and contingency plans.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
