Job Title: Warehouse Operations Manager

Company: Leading in-house distributor

Package: £60,000 - £70,000 per annum plus benefits + 20% bonus

Location: Smethwick, Birmingham

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 08.00-17.00

This is an exciting opportunity to join a business with ambitious growth plans, where you'll have the opportunity to play a key role in shaping the operation and supporting its continued expansion.

The Company

Loom Talent Limited have been exclusively engaged by a leading high growth in-house distributor in search for a Warehouse Operations Manager. This role will oversee a UK NDC looking after a headcount of c. 60 colleagues for an ambitious business looking to triple turnover in the next 3 years.

Our client is a leading provider into a diverse multi-sector client base spanning the UK & Internationally, whilst being committed to maintaining the highest standards of service, safety, and overall operational efficiency.

Aside being a competent leader, this individual needs to have a reasonable awareness of CI initiatives and have a proven ability to work at pace.

Key Duties of a Warehouse Operations Manager:

  • People-Centric Leadership: Lead and inspire a dedicated team to reach their full potential. Your focus on the well-being and development of your staff will be the cornerstone of success whilst having a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Health & Safety: Uphold rigorous health and safety standards, fostering a culture of safety awareness throughout the warehouse and distribution arm of the business.
  • Performance Metrics: Continue to evolve the organisational approach to KPI's, whilst ensuring existing and new site standardisation.
  • Continuous Improvement: To lead the sites CI & Optimisation activities, ensuring robust CI Methodology & Best Practise is ingrained in the ongoing site culture.
  • WMS & ERP Expertise: Utilise your experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Business Systems to drive operational efficiency. Familiarity with WMS & ERP implementations is a definite plus.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the seamless flow of goods from the warehouse to the end customer.

The Candidate

  • Have a Logistics Distribution & Supply Chain background - Essential.
  • Have a minimum of 5+ years' experience at a Warehouse Manager / Operations Manager / Senior Operations Manager or even General Manager level - Essential.
  • Have managed teams beyond 50+ employees through direct managerial reports - Essential.
  • Prior experience of Warehouse moves - Highly Desirable.
  • A working knowledge of WMS / ERP systems - Essential.
  • Exceptional people management and leadership skills - Essential.
  • An understanding of Lean Six Sigma / Continuous Improvement Methodology - Advantageous.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities - Essential.
  • Commutable to the Smethwick, Birmingham area 5 days per week - Essential.

The Package:

  • Salary - £60,000 to £70,000 (Dependant on experience).
  • 20% Company Bonus.
  • 25 days holiday + 8 Bank Holidays.
