Warehouse Operations Manager – Leading Equipment Supplier

£40-45K + Benefits

My client is a leading equipment supplier with a fantastic reputation for delivering high-quality products and outstanding service to some of the UK’s most prestigious events, exhibitions and venues.

They are seeking a Warehouse Operations Manager to join their team. The successful Warehouse Operations Manager will take ownership of the day-to-day warehouse operation, ensuring products and equipment are received, stored, picked, dispatched and returned efficiently and safely. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment where speed, accuracy, organisation and customer service are critical.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day warehouse operation, ensuring smooth and efficient workflows.
  • Manage, motivate and develop the warehouse team, creating a high-performance and safety-focused culture.
  • Oversee the receipt, storage, picking, packing, loading and dispatch of equipment and products.
  • Coordinate the movement of equipment in and out of the warehouse around busy event and exhibition schedules.
  • Ensure all equipment is accurately checked, maintained, prepared and available when required.
  • Manage stock levels and inventory accuracy, identifying discrepancies and implementing improvements.
  • Work closely with Operations, Logistics, Sales and Project teams to ensure customer requirements are delivered on time.
  • Plan warehouse resources around peaks in demand, ensuring deadlines are consistently achieved.
  • Implement and maintain robust warehouse processes, systems and procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement across warehouse efficiency, productivity and utilisation.
  • Ensure full compliance with H&S, manual handling, storage and warehouse procedures.
  • Monitor warehouse KPIs and provide regular performance reporting to senior management.
  • Manage relationships with transport and logistics partners where required.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and professional warehouse environment.

  • Proven experience managing a warehouse operation and leading a team, ideally within events, exhibitions, equipment hire, logistics, manufacturing or a similar fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience managing stock, inventory and warehouse systems.
  • A hands-on, proactive approach to operational management.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills.
  • The ability to prioritise effectively and remain calm under pressure.
  • A strong understanding of warehouse health & safety requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • A continuous-improvement mindset with the ability to identify and implement operational efficiencies.
