At GXO Sainsbury's in Sherburn-in-Elmet, we offer a range of permanent shift patterns, helping you find a schedule that works for you while providing the consistency of regular working hours.
We're recruiting for full-time, permanent Warehouse Operative roles across our warehouse operation, with opportunities available on PM, Night and Rotating shifts. As part of our team, you'll help receive, store, pick, pack and dispatch products across our ambient, chilled, produce and freezer departments, keeping our customers supplied every day in a fast-paced and varied environment.
Available Shift Patterns
We currently have a range of permanent shift patterns available, working 5 days out of 7:
- PM Shift: 14:00-22:00
- Rotating Shift: 06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00
- Night Shift: 22:00-06:00
Please note that public transport options to the site are limited, so you'll need to be able to make your own travel arrangements to ensure you can arrive on time for your shifts.
Pay, Benefits and More
- £14.61 per hour basic rate
- £2.76 per hour shift premium for all hours worked after 18:00
- Saturday premium of £1.05 per hour
- Sunday premium of £1.65 per hour
- £25 weekly freezer allowance
- 31 days annual leave (including Bank Holidays), rising to 35 days with service

What you'll do on a typical day
- Pick, pack and prepare orders accurately for customer delivery
- Receive, store and dispatch products safely and efficiently
- Operate MHE equipment where required (full training provided)
- Work to performance and quality standards while maintaining excellent attention to detail
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve operational targets
What you need to succeed at GXO
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- The ability to work in a multi-temperature warehouse environment
- Be comfortable carrying out manual handling activities, including lifting, pushing, and pulling
- Previous warehouse experience would be beneficial but is not essential, as full training will be provided
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- The ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment
