About The Role

Pertemps Thames Water seeks a Warehouse Operative for its Renewals and Logistics team in Didcot, paying £15.00 per hour on a full-time basis. You will manage the safe custody of stock, ensuring physical holdings match system records with real-time accuracy. Daily duties involve receiving, picking, and packing materials, plus preparing items for dispatch to meet service agreements. Supporting operational teams during incidents, you will also maintain clear, up-to-date visibility of inventory across distribution centres. This role demands attention to detail, reliability, and comfort with manual handling within a logistics setting. Prior warehousing experience is beneficial, though full training is provided. You will join a structured supply operation handling critical equipment for the wider business.

We are currently recruiting a Warehouse Operative to join our Renewals and Logistics team. The Inventory Operations & Supply team provides warehousing, storage and distribution of materials and critical equipment across the entire business.

You will be required to provide safe custody and real-time visibility of our stock holdings, which are then prepared for dispatch in line with agreed customer service levels.

We provide first-class professional delivery and collection services in order to meet agreed service levels and support the operational teams when facing customer/operational incidents.

What You Will Be Doing As a Warehouse Operative

  • Ensure that stock levels in the distribution centres reflect real-time holdings both on a physical and system basis.
  • Receiving, picking and packing materials.
  • Progressing goods in and goods out areas of activity.
  • Ensure vehicles are loaded on time every time.
  • Comply with stock management principles and governance.
  • Provide support to the wider business during times of operational incidents.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient handling of vehicles/FLTs in all respects, including the optimisation of fuel usage, and the cleanliness of vehicles.
  • Responsible for the security of the vehicle & load at all times.
  • Ensure all company equipment is maintained, utilised and returned as required within operational processes to the transport office/depot daily.
  • Report vehicle defects and ensure they are documented.
  • Ensure Health & Safety requirements are met within the company and in line with legal frameworks.

Location – Your base location will be Didcot, Oxfordshire.

Working Hours – Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week plus opportunity to work overtime.

What You Should Bring To The Role

To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need are:

  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Warehouse experience.
  • Basic numeracy and conversational English language.
  • Forklift truck license. (desirable)
  • Working knowledge of SAP Warehouse Management and RFID technology. (preferable)
