Warehouse Operative
Telford Dairy | Permanent | £32,011 per annum + overtime premiums
We are recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Operative at our Telford Dairy site, supporting a fast-paced food manufacturing and automated warehouse operation.
This role is suited to candidates who combine strong operational warehouse experience with systems capability and MHE competence. Successful candidates must hold valid MHE licences, be confident using Microsoft Office applications and have experience working with warehouse management systems such as SAP, WMS or similar operational software platforms.
Contract: Full Time / Permanent
Salary: £32,011 per annum, plus overtime premiums
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off (days & nights)
Working Hours: 7am-7pm / 7pm-7am
Location: Telford Dairy
Key Responsibilities
- Operate safely and effectively within a high-volume food manufacturing and warehouse environment, following site procedures, safe systems of work and hygiene standards.
- Use forklift equipment, including counterbalance trucks, to move, store and supply materials in line with operational requirements.
- Support production lines by ensuring materials are available on time, scanned accurately and moved to the correct locations throughout the system.
- Maintain accurate stock control, goods issuing, receipt of materials, traceability and stock rotation processes, supporting the management of stock discrepancies where required.
- Use warehouse systems such as SAP, WMS and other operational software platforms to support accurate material movements, stock visibility and operational performance.
- Identify, respond to and escalate operational, equipment, process, quality or system issues quickly to minimise disruption and protect operational performance.
- Support basic troubleshooting and fault finding activities across warehouse systems and processes where appropriate.
- Work confidently around high-speed machinery, automated warehouse processes and manufacturing plant.
- Maintain GMP, hygiene, quality and audit standards within the warehouse, supporting checks, audits and follow-up actions as required.
- Share technical and systems knowledge with team members to support capability, consistency and continuous improvement.

Skills & Experience
Essential
- Valid MHE licences, including Counterbalance, and proven operational competency.
- Good computer literacy, including experience using Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), SAP or other warehouse software platforms.
- Experience within a manufacturing, FMCG, food production or high-volume warehouse environment.
- Ability to navigate multiple operational systems and accurately process stock movements, transactions and warehouse data.
- Strong understanding of stock accuracy, traceability, scanning, goods receipt, stock rotation and material movement processes.
- Confident identifying, troubleshooting and escalating system, process, stock or operational issues.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise workload and make decisions within established procedures.

- Experience working in an automated warehouse environment.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement activities.
- Experience working around high-speed manufacturing equipment or automated systems.
- Basic fault-finding capability and confidence using multiple operational software systems.
