Based at our Barrett Engineering Steel Willenhall Site, we are looking for a passionate and committed Warehouse Operative to be part of our skilled and dedicated workforce. The working hours are on a rotating shift pattern Monday to Friday 6:00am-2:00pm, then Monday to Friday 2:00 pm to 10:00pm.

Specific Tasks Include

  • Pick computer-generated orders with repetitive handling/lifting of heavy and large items
  • Accurately record stock movement and usage, along with product identification and use of measuring equipment
  • Work efficiently and effectively as part of a team and on your own
  • Transferring stock, operate saws, overhead cranes, forklifts, side loaders, and side trackers after full training
  • Assisting in the overall production and dispatch of customers’ orders
  • Maintain high levels of Health and Safety at all times
  • Be adaptable and flexible in approach to work to meet operational requirements
  • Any ad hoc duties as required

Essential Skills For The Role

  • The successful candidate will ideally already have experience as a warehouse operative
  • You should be used to working safely, adhering to all health and safety procedures
  • Have a flexible attitude, be results-oriented, and enjoy working in a team environment
  • Ideally, you will be able to use mobile equipment (FLT, overhead crane)
  • The ability to read written instructions & record accurately work carried out
  • A full UK driving license
