A dedicated team of warehouse operatives (pickers) and catalogue assistants ensures efficient vehicle unloading, order collection, accurate product descriptions, and professional photography, supported by cost-effective logistics partnerships to move stock from distribution centres to the auction house.
Role Description
The Warehouse Operative role is a full-time, on-site position based at our Handforth Warehouse (SK9 3RW).

Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Unloading and loading vehicles
- Safely moving and storing stock
- Packing items for auction orders
- Organizing inventory in line with company processes
The role involves preparing goods for online auctions, assisting with material handling, and coordinating with porters, catalogue assistants, and other team members to ensure accurate order collection and dispatch.
The Warehouse Operative will:
- Follow established health and safety procedures
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
- Use warehouse equipment, including forklifts where appropriately trained and authorized
Occasional administrative tasks such as basic data entry, checking order details, and communicating with colleagues or supervisors to resolve stock or order issues may be carried out.

Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in unloading and packing to handle incoming and outgoing stock efficiently and accurately.
- Candidates should possess material handling and forklift operation skills to move goods safely and effectively within the warehouse (forklift certification is an advantage).
- Candidates should possess health and safety awareness to follow safe working practices and comply with relevant regulations.
- Relevant experience in a warehouse, logistics, or auction environment is beneficial, including inventory control and order fulfillment.
- Basic IT skills for handling digital order information and inventory systems; willingness to learn internal processes and tools.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate respectfully in a fast-paced environment.
