Warehouse Operative (Reading) – Full-Time, Permanent Role

Here at GXO, we’re working in partnership with Waitrose and are looking for Warehouse Operatives to join our team in Reading. This is a full-time, permanent position, working an “any 5 days out of 7” shift pattern, covering the morning shift (06:00 – 14:00 hours).

What You’ll Do on a Typical Day

  • Operate in a chilled, produce, and ambient environment, supporting the picking of customer orders
  • Handle manual handling equipment safely and effectively
  • Use the warehouse management system and “pick by voice” equipment
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety practices in line with company policies
  • Work toward daily productivity and performance targets
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, hygiene, and safety at all times

What You Need to Succeed

  • Experience in a warehouse environment is desirable but not essential
  • Flexibility in approach – we have peak seasons
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with a customer-focused approach
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and adaptability
  • Commitment to Health & Safety and maintaining operational standards
