We are looking for reliable and motivated Warehouse Operatives to join our growing warehouse operation.

Working with a varied product range including doors, flooring, furniture and associated products, you will support picking, replenishment, stock movement, consolidation and dispatch.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with previous warehouse experience who can work at pace while maintaining high standards of accuracy, quality, Health & Safety and 5S.

The role is initially for a period of three months, with the opportunity to progress into permanent employment, subject to performance, conduct, attendance and business requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Pick and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Replenish locations and move, locate and organise stock.
  • Consolidate orders and prepare goods for dispatch.
  • Load, unload and move products safely where required.
  • Check stock for correct SKU, quantity, condition and quality.
  • Handle large and bulky products, including regular manual handling and lifting items up to 25kg.
  • Use appropriate mechanical aids or team handling where required.
  • Operate MHE where appropriately trained, assessed and authorised.
  • Identify and report stock discrepancies, product damage, hazards, near misses and equipment defects.
  • Maintain high 5S and housekeeping standards throughout the shift.
  • Work flexibly across warehouse functions according to operational requirements.
  • Contribute to improvements in safety, quality and operational efficiency.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Previous warehouse, distribution or similar operational experience.
  • Experience in picking, replenishment, stock movement or dispatch.
  • Comfortable working within a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
  • Good attention to detail and a strong focus on product quality.
  • Good understanding of warehouse Health & Safety and safe working practices.
  • Reliable, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Physically capable of an active warehouse role involving regular lifting and carrying of doors and flooring, including other bulk or oversized items.
  • Flexible and willing to support different warehouse activities as required.
  • Experience with WMS/RF scanners and handling large or bulky products would be advantageous.

MHE EXPERIENCE

Previous experience or certification in

  • Counterbalance,
  • Reach,
  • Bendi/Flexi,
  • PPT/LLOP or other warehouse MHE is desirable.

All equipment use is subject to Company competency assessment and authorisation.

PERFORMANCE & STANDARDS

We expect our Warehouse Operatives to deliver consistently across productivity, accuracy, quality, safety, 5S, reliability and attendance. Safety, quality and accuracy must never be compromised to achieve productivity targets.

DEVELOPMENT & OPPORTUNITIES

Both permanent and temp-to-perm opportunities are available, with temp-to-perm candidates having the opportunity to progress into permanent employment subject to performance, conduct, attendance and business requirements.

LOCATION & TRAVEL

The role is primarily based within our Middlesbrough warehouse operation; however, the business also operates from locations in Hartlepool, and there may be occasional requirements to support across these sites. Employees must be able to reliably attend their assigned workplace for the required shift start and finish times. A driving licence and access to reliable transport are desirable, particularly for positions where flexibility between operational locations may be required. Any requirement for an employee to work regularly or occasionally across different Company locations will be subject to their agreed contractual working arrangements and any applicable Company mobility provisions.

Salary

  • £13.75 per hour for the day shift
  • £15.05 per hour for the back shift (2:30pm–10:00pm)
