The Role

  • To work as a warehouse operative as part of the Despatch team, to despatch food to written specifications meeting predetermined quality and safety attributes.
  • Following appropriate training, you will undertake these duties, correctly, safely and efficiently.
  • Always ensuring these duties are completed in line with Company policies, including but not limited to, PPE, Food safety, allergen management, Health and Safety, ‘clean as you go’ and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure Good Manufacturing Practice, Food safety and allergen procedures are followed at all times.
  • Ensure you operate ‘clean as you go’ and carry out any other hygiene duties as directed by your supervisor.
  • To read and understand instruction (written and/or verbal), follow recipes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) accurately.
  • To ensure that documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Actively work towards a zero level of complaints for your area and work to a ‘Right first time’ policy.
  • To work to Company objectives of minimal waste, maximum efficiency, conserving energy where possible and if appropriate switching machines off when not in use.
  • Loading lorries.
  • Recording product details.
  • Temperature checks of finished product
  • Wrapping pallets.
  • Accurately locating stock.
  • Ensure the warehouse is kept to an audit ready standard
  • To undertake training as required.
  • Be able to work well within a team.
  • Always work safely – consider safety of yourself and others.
  • Achieve a high standard of punctuality and attendance.
  • The above responsibilities and duties are not exhaustive, as required and directed by your supervisor to accept changes in responsibility or other duties suitable to knowledge or training.

  • Previous experience working in a warehouse environment.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Computer literate in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel. Experience using a database in a warehouse environment is advantageous.

Forklift Truck licences- Counter Balance and Reach

  • Be able to operate a FLT, undertake manual handling duties and work shifts (including nights)
  • Assist in carrying out stocktakes
  • Work in cold environments (freezer and Chiller)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • These are shifts, rotating days/afters/nights (8 hours per shift) – the day shifts are Monday to Friday and the nights are Sunday to Thursday
  • Must have a Reach truck license
