Warehouse Operative

Fixed Term

Full-Time: Monday – Friday

Shifts:

  • Picking: 8:30-4:30
  • Packing: 9-5

We are looking for support during our peak period of business, helping us meet our customer demands in the run up to Christmas. We have fixed term opportunities in our warehouse based in the leafy green village of Steeton, West Yorkshire.

Key Responsibilities:

  • As a Warehouse Operative you will contribute to the continued success of the business through accurate and efficient processing of orders.
  • Working with pick lists and despatch notes, you will accurately pick goods from various locations throughout the warehouse.
  • Operating both manual and automated packing lines matching the correct products to the customer orders.
  • Undertaking stock replenishment ensuring the stock is stored in the correct locations with the products easily accessible from the pick face.
  • Operating a clean as you go ethic you will be ensuring that the warehouse is kept neat, clean and tidy and housekeeping is maintained in all areas.
  • You will assist in receiving new supplies, unloading, storing and stock allocating stock as required.

We are looking for staff who are keen and willing to learn, who are reliable, hard-working and detail conscious and who can work as part of a team to help us meet our customers’ needs.

In return we are offering fixed-term contracts up to 18th December 2026, with the possibility that some roles may be extended further or made permanent after this point.

Skills and Experience:

We are looking for candidates that can demonstrate:

  • Previous experience of working in a fast-paced Warehouse environment
  • An ability to work to, achieve and if you can exceed KPIs and targets without close supervision
  • Be organised, with effective communication skills including good spoken and written English skills
  • Able to work on own initiative, take responsibility and prioritise tasks
  • A willingness to assist colleagues when required and having a strong customer service mentality is essential
  • An awareness of Health and Safety procedures and safe systems of work

Our site is situated near the train station but has ample on-site parking for those travelling by road. Damart prides itself on promoting a good working environment, our warehouse is clean and bright and our colleagues are friendly and welcoming. Our site also offers a subsidised restaurant, providing a hot and cold meal selection throughout the day.
