Join our team as a Warehouse Operative based at our distribution centre in Tankersley.

We are looking for hard working individuals that are enthusiastic and enjoy a challenge to join our warehouse team at our Distribution Centre in Tankersley, South Yorkshire. Someone who has a strong work ethic, attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will work as part of a team within a busy chill and ambient warehouse environment. Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment may be useful, however full training will be given.

Details of location, pay and shift pattern:

Shifts/hours:

Day Shift:

  • Vacancy A - 37.5 hours per week working Tuesday to Saturday. The working hours are from 6am to 2pm Tuesday to Friday and 8am to 4pm Saturday
  • Vacancy B - 37.5 hours per week working Sunday to Thursday. The working hours are from 6am to 2pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 4pm Sunday

PM Shift:

  • Vacancy C - 37.5 hours per week working Tuesday to Saturday. The working hours are from 2pm to 10pm Tuesday to Friday and 10am to 6pm Saturday
  • Vacancy D - 37.5 hours per week working Sunday to Thursday. The working hours are from 2pm to 10pm Monday to Thursday and 10am to 6pm Sunday

Night Shift:

  • Vacancy E - 37.5 hours per week working Tuesday to Saturday. The working hours are from 10pm to 6am
  • Vacancy F - 38 hours per week working Friday to Monday. The working hours are from 10pm to 8am

Please note, all roles will involve working in the chill and ambient departments.

Location: Company Shop Group, Tankersley Distribution Centre, Wentworth Way, Wentworth Industrial Estate, Tankersley, Barnsley, South Yorkshire S75 3DH

Rate of pay: £12.75 per hour, paid on a 4 weekly basis

Night Premium: Employees assigned to the night shift will receive a night shift allowance of £1.25 per hour

Please note, our team operates around the clock, 24/7, and the successful candidates will be required to work bank holidays.

Accountabilities and responsibilities:

  • Checking Goods into the Warehouse when a delivery is unloaded
  • Checking for damaged or missing items and then sorting stock for storage in the warehouse.
  • Taking sorted stock to the appropriate storage space or arranging for the appropriate vehicle to move the stock
  • Keeping accurate records of stock on the warehouse management system, so it can be located quickly
  • Ensure that products are stored safely and labelled/disclaimed correctly and safely and Supervisor or Manager are advised of any items that are not correct
  • Adhere to all environmental, food safety and quality/ hygiene procedures when undertaking duties
  • Processing the product through various packing lines and processes to ensure food safety, brand protection and legality
  • The use of machines and equipment may be required to process the products
  • Sorting, checking, weighing, labelling and ink-jetting products
  • Picking orders using a hand-held scanner from the storage space and taking to the packing teams
  • Place stock on pallets, ensuring it is then correctly wrapped and labelled ready for delivery to the stores
  • Organising transfers and loading goods on to delivery vehicles
  • Ensure that all areas are kept to a high standard
  • Ensure that all paperwork is completed in a timely and efficient manner using the correct document and system
  • The use of technology to input data
  • Ensure all Health & Safety processes are followed at all times
  • Ensure that KPI's are achieved
