Our Grocery Service Centre, based near Liverpool, is a hub for transactional activity across multiple ABF companies within the ABF Grocery division. Supporting some of our well-known brands such as Kingsmill, Pataks, Blue Dragon, Jordans, Ryvita and Silver Spoon, amongst others. We deliver Shared Service activities across a wide range of disciplines including Customer Services, Consumer Care, Finance, Payroll, HR and IS.

Warehouse Operative – Days or Nights
Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester
Salary: £29,378.16 – £33,235.44 per year, depending on shift pattern
Hours: 40 hours per week | 10-hour shifts
Shift Pattern: 4 in 7, including weekends

We're looking for enthusiastic Warehouse Operatives to join our Stockport operation at Hovis Bakeries (formally known as Allied Bakeries).
Whether you're an experienced warehouse operative or looking to develop your skills in logistics, this is an opportunity to join a well-established business with a strong benefits package, training opportunities and the chance to build a long-term career.
You can choose from:
☀️ Day Shift: 08:00 – 18:00
🌙 Night Shift: 18:00 – 04:00
Both positions are 40 hours per week, working 10-hour shifts across a 4-days-in-7 pattern, including weekends.

Key Accountabilities
As a Warehouse Operative, you'll play an important role in making sure our products are accurately picked, prepared and loaded so they reach our customers on time.
Your day could include:
- Picking and assembling products accurately for customer orders
- Loading products onto the correct vehicles
- Checking stock and maintaining accurate product control
- Carrying out stock rotation and quality checks
- Decanting and moving products safely around the warehouse
- Identifying and resolving issues such as stock shortages or damaged products
- Operating warehouse equipment and MHE safely
- Working with colleagues to achieve daily performance targets
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Following all health and safety procedures and helping us achieve Zero Harm

The Right Person
You don't need to have years of warehouse experience to join us.
We're looking for people who are reliable, hardworking and safety conscious.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous warehouse, logistics, manufacturing or distribution experience – desirable, not essential
- A positive, can-do attitude
- Good attention to detail
- The ability to follow processes and instructions accurately
- Good timekeeping and organisation skills
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A flexible approach and willingness to learn new skills
- The ability to work in a physically active environment involving manual handling
- A strong commitment to working safely
- FLT experience or a current FLT licence is desirable, but not essential
