Role Overview

This is a hands-on Warehouse Operative role, focused on the physical processing, inspection, and movement of returned products through the Swindon warehouse. You will be responsible for receiving goods, checking product condition, preparing items for resale, supporting stock accuracy, and ensuring products are processed within our agreed turnaround targets.

Alongside the day-to-day warehouse activity, we are looking for someone who is comfortable using basic systems and Excel to help improve visibility of performance across the returns operation. This could include supporting simple KPI reporting, stock checks, cycle count outputs, forecasting workload trends, and helping the team understand where process improvements are needed.

The role would suit someone who enjoys being active on the warehouse floor, takes pride in accuracy and product standards, and is keen to develop more analytical and reporting skills as the business continues to grow and improve its ways of working.

Key Responsibilities

• Returns intake and product inspection
  • Receive and inspect returned goods, checking quantities, condition, damage, and discrepancies. Ensure all returned products are reviewed accurately and processed in line with the required turnaround times.
• Product classification and labelling
  • Classify returned products based on condition, ensuring items are correctly labelled as good stock, return to manufacturer, repair/rework, or scrap. Make sure all products are documented clearly and routed to the correct next stage.
• Cleaning and resale preparation
  • Clean, prepare, box, and label resaleable products so they meet the required quality and presentation standards before being returned to stock.
• Stock handling and warehouse organisation
  • Move, store, and locate product safely and accurately. Maintain an organised warehouse layout so stock can be easily located, picked, and managed.
• Picking, packing, and dispatch support
  • Support the picking, packing, and dispatch of customer orders, spare parts, or operational stock movements as required, working closely with the wider Operations and Customer Experience teams.
• Stock control and cycle counting
  • Carry out stock counts and cycle checks to support inventory accuracy. Investigate and report stock variances, damaged products, or process gaps so they can be resolved quickly.
• KPI reporting and Excel support
  • Support basic reporting for the warehouse and returns operation, including turnaround times, volumes processed, stock discrepancies, scrap levels, rework volumes, and other operational KPIs. Use Excel to update trackers, review patterns, and support simple forecasting of workload or capacity requirements.
• Process improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse workflows, reduce errors, and improve the speed and accuracy of returns processing. Share practical ideas with the Warehouse Supervisor and wider operations team.
• Equipment use and manual handling
  • Safely load, unload, lift, and move products using the correct manual handling techniques and warehouse equipment. Follow all health and safety processes when handling stock.
• Health, safety, and housekeeping
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment. Report hazards, follow safety procedures, and help ensure the warehouse remains organised and compliant.
• Flexible operational support
  • Support wider business needs where required, including activity at other sites, stock projects, photoshoots, or wider company initiatives.
