Warehouse Operative – Reading | Full-Time, Permanent Role

Here at GXO, we’re partnering with Waitrose and are seeking Warehouse Operatives to join our team in Reading. This is a full-time, permanent position, operating under an ’any 5 days out of 7’ shift pattern, including night shifts (22:00 – 06:00 hours).

Responsibilities
A typical day in this role involves:
- Working in a chilled, produce, and ambient warehouse environment
- Supporting the loading and picking of customer orders
- Operating manual handling equipment safely and efficiently
- Utilising the warehouse management system and ’pick by voice’ equipment
- Ensuring strict adherence to health and safety policies
- Meeting daily productivity and performance targets
- Maintaining high standards in housekeeping, hygiene, and safety
Requirements
To succeed in this position, you should:
- Preferably have previously worked in a warehouse environment
- Demonstrate flexibility, especially during peak seasons
- Possess strong communication and problem-solving skills, with a customer-focused approach
- Show autonomy and ability to work both independently and as part of a keen team
- Commit to Health & Safety guidelines and uphold operational standards
