Warehouse Operative/Afternoon Loader

Compensation: £29,000 / year

Description

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Afternoon Loader to join our team. You will be responsible for efficiently loading and unloading goods, ensuring accurate handling, and maintaining a safe work environment. With some office duties, for example, manifesting paperwork using the SAP system and reprinting paperwork when required. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy physical work and afternoon shifts.

Shift pattern: Monday to Friday 11am-7pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Load and unload goods from delivery vehicles in a timely and safe manner.
  • Ensure all items are handled carefully to prevent damage.
  • Sort and allocate products according to delivery schedules.
  • Use lifting equipment where necessary and follow manual handling guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized loading area.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations.
  • Report any discrepancies or damaged goods to the supervisor
  • Some office work
  • Creating delivery manifests
  • Re-printing delivery paperwork when required

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar environment (preferred)
  • Ability to lift heavy items and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Punctual and reliable, with a strong work ethic
  • Basic understanding of health and safety procedures
  • FLT and Shunting experience preferred. Full training provided
  • Full UK Driving license
  • A shunting license would be desirable
