Purpose of the Job
The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the safe and efficient transportation of company vehicles to and from the Airport while supporting warehouse operations by assisting Warehouse Leaders as needed. The position also involves maintaining strict adherence to security, health, and safety regulations, ensuring all shipments are handled securely and accurately throughout the process. Additionally, you will be responsible for completing all necessary driver vehicle checks prior to and after each run, contributing to the smooth running of daily operations and upholding high standards of workplace safety and security.
Job Description
- Operate company vans to transport freight safely between the warehouse and Airport, ensuring timely delivery aligned with operational schedules.
- Assist Warehouse Leaders with diverse warehouse duties, including but not limited to loading and unloading shipments, organizing stock areas, and supporting inventory management.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments carefully, verifying accuracy and condition, and communicate any discrepancies promptly to Warehouse Operations Supervisors to maintain operational integrity.
- Complete thorough pre- and post-journey vehicle checks, documenting inspection results to guarantee vehicle safety and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Adhere strictly to all Department for Transport (DfT) security regulations, health and safety policies, and guidance from HM Revenue and Customs, ensuring compliance in all aspects of the role.
- Perform general errands within the warehouse environment to support daily processes, including maintaining a clean and organized warehouse and yard area, contributing to a safe and efficient workplace.
- Support peak operational periods, such as during holiday seasons, by providing flexible shift coverage and assistance with increased workload demands.
- Handle all associated documentation accurately and efficiently, ensuring shipment records and reports are maintained in a timely manner to support audit and operational needs.
- Participate in ongoing training and development initiatives to stay current on best practices, safety enhancements, and company policies relevant to warehouse and driving operations.

Job Requirements - Experience and Education
- High school diploma or equivalent is required to provide a foundation for the responsibilities of this role.
- Previous experience working as a warehouse operator, driver, or in a similar capacity within logistics or freight operations is essential for effective performance.
- Certified ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse machinery where applicable, demonstrating competence in warehouse equipment handling.
- Strong capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, dynamic environment, adapting to shifting priorities while maintaining accuracy.
- Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety standards related to warehouse and transportation activities, with a proactive approach to creating and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Valid driver experience with a clean record, accompanied by an understanding of vehicle maintenance and road safety regulations pertinent to commercial delivery vehicles.
- Commitment to reliable attendance and punctuality, recognizing the critical nature of meeting delivery schedules and operational timelines.
