As an Apprentice Supply Chain Warehouse Operative
As an Apprentice Supply Chain Warehouse Operative, you will work as part of a dynamic team dedicated to delivering our core objective, having the right stock, in the right place, at the right time. This is a physically demanding role that requires flexibility to work across different operational departments.
What you'll do at work
- Correctly and accurately handle and store stock to maximise availability and reduce damage wastage
- Accurately and consistently follow Standard Operating Procedures to meet Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators
- Effectively use relevant IT systems and Materials Handling Equipment
- Create a safe working environment by applying strict health and safety management standards and maintaining high housekeeping rules
- Actively participate in our democratic co-ownership principles, sharing your knowledge, ideas, and honest feedback to improve the Partnership
- Engage regularly with your Section Manager on key knowledge modules and attend designated workshops to complete your training

- Hours: Working pattern: Full-time, on a shift pattern of: 06:00 to 14:00 or 14:00 to 22:00 this will be discussed at the interview. 37 hours 30 minutes a week

What you'll learn
- Conduct risk assessments within the working environment.

- Receive products in line with organisational procedures.
- Store and pick products in line with organisational procedures.
- Dispatch products in line with organisational procedures.
- Decant, pack products in line with organisational procedures.
- Communicate with others verbally, for example internal and external customers, colleagues, and managers.
- Communicate in writing with others, for example internal and external customers, colleagues and managers.
- Load and unload products, considering the product that is to be moved and its current and planned destination.
- Use tools and equipment to aid in product handling.
- Use information technology and digital systems. Comply with GDPR and cyber security.
- Locate and use operational information, electronic or paper based, required to fulfil contractual requirements.
- Select, prepare, and use packaging materials that reduce waste and mitigate environmental impacts.
- Support under instruction scheduled and unscheduled stock taking activities relevant to the organisation and product.
- Identify and escalate problems beyond own responsibility.
- Follow procedures in line with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.
- Follow equity, diversity and inclusion rules.
- Carry out and record learning and development activities.
- Conducts handover activities.

Essential qualifications
- GCSE in: Functional Skills Level 1 (grade 3)
Desirable qualifications
- GCSE in: English (grade 4), Maths (grade 4)
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will secure a permanent Warehouse Operative role.
