About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and dependable Production Supervisor to oversee the day to day operations of a busy industrial recycling and materials processing facility.
This is a hands-on supervisory role responsible for coordinating employees and workloads across multiple production areas. The successful candidate will ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards while supporting the wider management team.
The role combines practical factory involvement with team supervision, production planning, quality control and record-keeping. It is fully site-based, with no option for remote or home working.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising daily activities across the factory’s production areas
- Planning workloads and allocating tasks to production employees
- Monitoring output and ensuring daily and weekly targets are achieved
- Ensuring materials are processed, sorted and stored correctly
- Maintaining consistent quality standards throughout production
- Providing clear instructions and support to employees
- Training new starters and supporting the continued development of the team
- Monitoring attendance, conduct and performance, escalating concerns when necessary
- Ensuring employees follow company procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Promoting the correct use of personal protective equipment
- Carrying out regular workplace and safety checks
- Delivering toolbox talks and communicating operational updates
- Monitoring machinery and reporting faults, damage or maintenance requirements promptly
- Working with the maintenance team to minimise disruption and production downtime
- Maintaining accurate production, quality and stock records
- Investigating production issues and implementing practical solutions
- Ensuring factory areas are kept clean, organised and safe
- Monitoring the availability of materials, tools and consumables
- Identifying opportunities to improve safety, quality and productivity
- Providing hands-on assistance to the production team when required
- Reporting production figures, concerns and operational updates to management

About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous supervisory or team-leader experience within a factory, manufacturing, recycling, engineering, warehousing or similar industrial environment
- Is confident supervising employees and managing daily workloads
- Has a practical and hands-on approach to leadership
- Can communicate instructions clearly and professionally
- Is organised and able to manage multiple priorities
- Has strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Understands the importance of health and safety within an industrial workplace
- Can maintain accurate records and complete basic production reports
- Is comfortable working around industrial machinery and processed materials
- Is physically capable of working within an active factory environment
- Can remain calm and organised when managing production issues
- Is reliable, punctual and capable of setting a positive example to the team
- Is confident using computers and basic office software

Previous experience within recycling or materials processing would be beneficial but is not essential. Relevant training can be provided to a candidate with strong industrial supervisory experience.
A forklift licence or other relevant machinery certificates would be advantageous but are not essential.
Training and Support
A structured on-site induction and training program will be arranged to help the successful candidate become fully established in the role.
This may include training on:
- The company’s production and materials-processing procedures
- Factory machinery and equipment
- Quality-control requirements
- Health and safety procedures and safe systems of work
- Production reporting and record-keeping
- Team-management processes and company policies
Where appropriate, additional role-related training, licences or qualifications may also be arranged.
Applicants do not need previous experience of the company’s specific recycling processes, provided they have suitable industrial or supervisory experience and are willing to learn.
Important Workplace Information
This is a practical, hands-on position based entirely within an industrial factory environment in Dunsfold. The role requires regular movement around the production facility and cannot be carried out remotely.
Applicants must be able to travel reliably to the Dunsfold site for every shift.
