ROLE PURPOSE
The Exeter Warehouse & Production Team Leader owns day-to-day operational delivery at our Exeter site — from picking and despatch through to production reporting, stock control and finishing quality — while leading and developing the site team. This is a hands-on leadership role: equal parts floor presence, systems and reporting discipline, and people management, reporting directly to the Head of Operations.
THE PERSON WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- A hands-on operations leader who is as comfortable running picking and despatch as they are producing a clean weekly report
- Being a working team leader and happy to contribute on the ground during peak periods.
- Organised and process-minded — someone who instinctively turns ad hoc ways of working into repeatable daily routines
- Confident with everyday business systems (spreadsheets, Smartsheet, despatch platforms such as Worldship) and quick to pick up new ones
- A natural trainer and coach who brings the team with them, not just an instruction-giver
- Comfortable holding people to account through structured 1-2-1s and honest, fair conversations
- Safety-conscious and detail-focused, particularly around stock accuracy and finishing quality
- A clear, proactive communicator who keeps Gloucester in the loop without being asked
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Production & warehouse operations (daily)
- Generate and issue picking for finishing production runs each morning
- Process priority orders promptly, keeping same-day despatch on track
- Generate despatch paperwork and upload to Smartsheet for offsite embroidery
- Produce daily production reporting
- Print and distribute warehouse order paperwork to the team

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
