What we’re looking for…

This is an exciting opportunity to join the leadership team based in Cumbernauld as Warehouse Shift Leader.

Reporting to the Head of Warehousing, you will have responsibility for managing the Team Leaders and supporting all aspects of the day-to-day shift operation, including the wholesale and rework warehouse operations.

Working on a weekly rotational early/back shift pattern, your main responsibility will be ensuring that safety first is always our first priority. Controlling volume throughput across the site and maintaining site utilisation in line with budgeted volumes whilst ensuring all stock/orders are fulfilled within the required lead-times, and level of customer service, while adhering to standard operating procedures and safe systems of work. You will develop and maintain site standard operating procedures in line with ISO standards ensuring an excellent level of hygiene and housekeeping is maintained.

Working closely and collaboratively with the local site management team you will be tasked with delivering against agreed budgeted financial targets, operational key performance indicators, quality, safety and environmental requirements as well as legislative and regulatory compliance.

Your responsibilities will include…

  • Manage Site Finances: Assist with budget preparation, track variances, and maintain robust charging processes.
  • Maintain Quality Standards: Develop ISO-compliant procedures covering warehouse, transport, stock control, and QA operations.
  • Optimise Inbound & Stock: Ensure full goods receipts from AG Barr and suppliers, perform stock counts, and maintain system accuracy.
  • Drive Operational Efficiency: Utilise capacity models to balance staff, equipment, and space against operational budget and SLAs.
  • Lead & Develop People: Oversee performance reviews, handle employee relations, and host regular team forums.
  • Champion Health & Safety: Maintain SSOW, COSHH, and Risk Assessments, while chairing monthly H&S meetings.
  • Ensure Business Continuity: Build and maintain disaster recovery and contingency plans to mitigate operational risk.

What you’ll bring...

The successful candidate will have:

  • Distribution Experience & Systems: Extensive operational experience in a busy warehouse environment, with proven hands-on management of modern WMS and inventory systems.
  • Team Leadership & Performance: Track record of managing, motivating, and developing logistics teams to meet operational KPIs and legislative requirements.
  • Financial Acumen: Direct experience in budget preparation, cost control, variance reporting, and resource optimisation.
  • Health, Safety & Compliance: Strong working knowledge of site H&S regulations, Risk Assessments, SSOW, and COSHH requirements.
  • Customer Focus & Change Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to manage customer SLAs with a "can-do" mindset and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

And it would also be great if you can demonstrate:

  • Professional Health & Safety Qualification: NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent diploma.
  • Transport Qualifications: Valid Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) holder with a strong grasp of transport regulations.
  • Advanced Systems Experience: Working knowledge of automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS).
