We're currently recruiting for a Warehouse Shift Manager to join our operation in Hatfield on our contract with Arla. Reporting into the Warehouse Operations Manager, you'll take ownership of a busy palletised warehouse operation, ensuring safety, service and operational performance targets are achieved day in, day out.
Leading a team of up to 60 colleagues through 4 First Line Managers within a fast-paced FMCG environment, you'll be responsible for delivering exceptional safety, service and productivity performance across one of our largest warehouse operations.
This role operates on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, working 7:00am - 7:00pm.

We're looking to offer a salary of up to £45,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition, we offer 20 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What You'll Do On a Typical Day
- Lead, coach and develop 4 First Line Managers and a team of up to 60 warehouse colleagues
- Take responsibility for the safe and efficient running of the warehouse operation on shift
- Ensure customer, productivity and service targets are consistently achieved
- Drive a proactive health and safety culture and maintain operational compliance across the site
- Monitor and report on key operational KPIs, identifying opportunities to improve performance and efficiency
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, quality and colleague engagement
- Manage employee relations matters including absence, disciplinary and grievance processes
- Work closely with the site leadership team to deliver operational objectives and customer expectations
- Support recruitment, succession planning and colleague development activities across the warehouse operation

What You Need To Succeed At XPO
- Previous experience leading large teams within a fast-paced warehouse, logistics or distribution environment
- Experience managing Team Leaders or First Line Managers
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification or equivalent health and safety management experience
- Proven ability to develop high-performing teams and create a culture of continuous improvement
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, compliance and operational best practice
- Experience managing performance through KPIs and operational reporting
- Strong communication, people management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience of employee relations processes including absence management, disciplinary and grievance procedures
- Experience within FMCG, third-party logistics, warehousing or transport operations would be advantageous
