The Opportunity

If so, we have a fantastic opportunity to join our Portbury operation as a Warehouse Shift Manager, where you will work a fixed late shift, Sunday to Thursday, 2:00pm–10:30pm.
In this key leadership role, you will be at the heart of our cold chain warehouse operation, leading people, driving performance and keeping things moving. You will take ownership of the daily operations, ensuring everything runs safely, smoothly and efficiently, while working closely with the Warehouse Operations Manager to deliver outstanding results.

What You'll Be Doing
Reporting into the Warehouse Operations Manager, you will bring:
- Lead from the front, where you will recruit, onboard and develop a high performing warehouse teams.
- Drive performance by inspiring Sector Leaders and Colleagues to achieve and exceed shift KPIs.
- Keep things moving, planning people and resources around live volumes to deliver a smooth, efficient operation.
- Put people first by managing wellbeing, absence, return to work and employee relations with a supportive approach.
- Champion safety through the promotion of a safe, positive workplace and ensure HSE standards.
- Build strong partnerships, working closely with agencies and key stakeholders to ensure the operation is fully resourced.
- Develop your team, identify training needs and create opportunities for colleagues to grow.
- Stay ahead of the operation, reviewing plans, systems and performance to spot opportunities and drive improvement.
- Lead with confidence, managing briefings, meetings, investigations, hazard walks and safety observations.
- Make an impact by continuously improving productivity, accuracy and efficiency while delivering outstanding results for the organisation.
- Support wider operations by working closely with the Warehouse Operations Manager on initiatives and tasks that add value to the team and site.

What We're Looking For
To be successful in your application you will be a confident, people-focused warehouse leader who knows how to bring out the best in their team and keep a busy FMCG operation performing at its best.
You will bring hands-on warehouse management experience, a strong understanding of an FMCG or logistics distribution environment and a proven track record of leading and developing teams. You will be analytical, solutions focused and passionate about teamwork, creating a culture where people feel valued, empowered and confident to share their ideas.
You will also need to be flexible and adaptable to support different shift patterns as the operation evolves. Experience working with Trade Unions would be a real advantage, as you will have the opportunity to build positive relationships and work collaboratively with colleagues and representatives.

Role Details
Salary: Up to £38,500 per annum + £3,500 night shift allowance.
