Warehouse Shift Manager

Here at GXO, we are looking for a Warehouse Shift Manager to join our team on our Scotland Gateway contract at our Bellshill site. You’ll play a key role in motivating and being a proactive individual to support the day-to-day operation, ensuring performance targets, service levels, and customer expectations are consistently achieved. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in driving operational excellence, developing colleagues, promoting a strong safety culture, and building effective relationships across the business.

This is a full-time, permanent position, working Monday – Friday 08:00 – 17:00.

What you’ll do on a typical day

  • Management of the day-to-day operation, providing leadership and motivation for the team to ensure the site meets its daily performance target and weekly KPIs, thereby delivering an efficient and effective service to the customer within budget
  • Line management of warehouse and transport Operators and Drivers: ensuring that all colleagues are fully trained and legally compliant. Managing hours, infringements, pay issues, and training
  • To liaise with other departments and manage the customer relationship. Ensure communication is effective, and issues are highlighted and dealt with in a timely manner
  • Promote good health, safety, and environmental practices and challenge poor performance
  • Collation and input of statistical information for various reports

What you need to succeed at GXO

  • Experience within a busy operational environment, confident working towards tight deadlines and on your own initiative
  • Demonstrable experience of leading and developing a team
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Well organised with an attention to detail
