Job Advertisement: Warehouse Shift Supervisor

Salary: £36,000

Location: Chesterfield

Working Hours: 38.5 hrs per week - Rotational shifts - 06:00am - 14:00pm/14:00pm - 22:00pm - plus one in every four Saturdays

Our client, a prominent player in the distribution industry, is seeking a dynamic Warehouse Shift Supervisor to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with proven warehouse supervisory experience to oversee day-to-day warehouse activities, ensuring the safe and efficient storage, picking, and despatch of products and the optimisation of warehouse operations.

Role Overview

As the Warehouse Shift Supervisor, you will report directly to the Warehouse Manager and play a pivotal role in leading a dedicated team of warehouse operatives and administrative staff. Your focus will be on delivering excellent customer service through effective management of warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations

  • Manage daily operations to ensure efficient picking and despatch, ensuring customer orders are picked accurately and dispatched on time.
  • Maximise warehouse space, productivity, and workflow efficiency.
  • Monitor KPIs, including pick rates and accuracy, ensuring products are dispatched safely and securely.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the warehouse teams to achieve optimal performance.
  • Manage performance, attendance, and training of team members.
  • Allocate resources effectively to meet customer demands.
  • Promote a positive, accountable, and safety-focused culture within the team.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding of new team members.
  • Minimise stock damage, losses, and waste.
  • Report and investigate stock discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain compliance with Health & Safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Support the Warehouse Manager in safety inspections and investigations.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance warehouse efficiency.
  • Support Goods In, Transport, and Returns as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve operational performance and customer satisfaction.
