PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The purpose of the Warehouse Stock Assistant role is to support accurate stock management within the warehouse by ensuring that all products are correctly handled, stored, labelled, and recorded within the bin locations. The role is responsible for maintaining high levels of inventory accuracy, conducting regular stock counts, and monitoring bin compliance to ensure that stock is correctly placed and easily identifiable.

The Warehouse Stock Assistant plays a key role in supporting efficient warehouse operations by identifying discrepancies, maintaining accurate bin data, and reporting any non-compliance or stock irregularities. This position contributes to improving stock visibility, operational efficiency, and overall inventory control, while ensuring adherence to company procedures and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Control
- Maintain accurate inventory records and stock levels.
- Conduct routine stock counts, cycle counts, and annual stock takes.
- Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy targets.
- Monitor stock movement and ensure proper stock rotation using the FIFO(First-In, First-Out) principle where applicable.
Bin Data Accuracy
- Continuously verify the accuracy of products stored within picking bins.
- Ensure that the correct products and quantities are located in the appropriate bins.
- Monitor bin locations regularly to ensure that product placement aligns with warehouse standards and processes.
Bin Labelling
- Create and maintain clear, accurate, and legible bin labels throughout the warehouse.
- Ensure all bin labels are visible, correctly positioned, and that barcodes are easily scannable.
- Update the Bin Master Sheet daily and submit it to the Stock Controller for IQ system updates.
Compliance Monitoring
- Identify and report any non-compliance related to stock placement within bins or unlabeled full pallets.
- Report all discrepancies or non-compliance issues to the Bulk Controller.
- Initiate investigations with the relevant Stock Clerk when reviewing camera queries to identify non-compliant activities.
- Complete and submit a daily bin accuracy report.

Safety and Compliance
- Adhere to all warehouse safety standards, policies, and procedures while performing operational duties.
- Store stock safely and systematically within designated warehouse locations.
- Ensure stock is organized, easily accessible, and protected from damage.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness and housekeeping standards.
- Ensure that work areas comply with the health and safety requirements.
Stock Counts and Verification
- Conduct daily stock counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Compare all stock counting sheets and perform recounts where discrepancies are identified.
- Consolidate and submit stock count sheets to the Stock Controller for further investigation and reconciliation.
Picking and Dispatch
- Pick stock accurately according to customer orders or internal requisitions.
- Prepare stock for dispatch, including packing, labeling, and staging.
- Verify outgoing shipments against picking slips and delivery documentation.
- Assist with loading and unloading vehicles when required.
