The Role

We are looking for a Warehouse Supervisor, FTC (maternity cover) to oversee the effective running of the Technical Returns operation at our Wellingborough site (NN8 6BS). The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision within the Samsung contract, including resource and performance management to ensure the customers’ expectations and SLAs are met. This is a fully onsite role, with the FTC contract anticipated to be for 12-months.

The working hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 - 16:00 and the role will offer a salary of £34,569.68 per annum (pro-rata).

  • Ensure the effective operation of the warehouse including resource management and task allocation, taking a hands-on approach to work as necessary.
  • Ensure inbound stock is safely unloaded, receipted and discrepancies reported in a timely manner according to company procedures.
  • Ensure all goods are handled in the correct manner to keep damage to product to a minimum.
  • Ensure all manual handling techniques are followed to prevent injury and harm.
  • Ensure all team members receive appropriate training and development, mentoring and support, as necessary.
  • Ensure all health and safety procedures are adhered to, including PPE and SSoW, taking appropriate action where procedures are not being adhered to or could be improved.
  • Host operational morning meeting, providing updates and direction to the wider team.
  • Oversee the High Value Returns Team, ensuring KPI’s, SLA’s and customer requirements are met.
  • Ensure contract SWI’s and SSoW’s are continuously reviewed and updated.
  • Focus on the implementation, continuous monitoring and development of 5S, Y.E.S and Kaizen
  • Ensure all company procedures are adhered to, including absence, performance, standards of behaviour, taking due consideration of company values.
  • Ensure all team members are aware of key outcomes, business processes, & expectations.
  • Ensure any concerns, issues or variances to instructions are immediately communicated to the team and, when relevant, line manager to allow appropriate action to be taken at the earliest opportunity.

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience working within a warehouse / logistics environment (essential)
  • Excellent team leadership skills, with experience of management of high quantity of employees (20+)
  • Experience working as part of a Technical Returns operation will be advantageous.
  • Good communication skills – both verbal and written.
  • Experience of HR processes
  • Awareness of manual handling techniques.
  • Good IT skills, including use of Microsoft Office packages.
  • Flexible and proactive approach.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • System knowledge of OPUS, PLUTO, ZEUS. SAP, GRMS (advantageous but not essential)
  • Proven experience working in a fast-paced and proactive environment
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
