Location: Hanwell

Position: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: £35,000 per annum

Are you looking for a stable, supervisory role which is still hands-on and with a supportive team? Our friendly Hanwell branch is looking for a reliable Warehouse Supervisor to join us.

While we offer comprehensive training on our products and systems, you will need previous supervisory experience and a valid forklift licence to hit the ground running.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Thursday: 9:00am – 6:30pm
  • Friday: 9:00am – 6:00pm
  • Saturday: 7:30am-10:30am

What We Are Looking For

Licences:

  • A forklift truck licence.

Experience:

  • Supervisory experience working in a yard and/or warehouse environment with solid practical forklift experience.

The Role at a Glance

Your time will be spent supervising our busy yard and team. Key duties include:

Supervisory:

  • Acting as the first line of authority for all yard and warehouse staff.
  • Setting an exemplary example with regards attitude, appearance and working practices.

Yard & Warehouse:

  • Oversee the completion of all work each day, whilst ensuring staff follow all health & safety rules.
  • Supervising staff to safely operating forklift trucks to move stock.

Customer Service:

  • Welcoming and assisting trade and retail customers.

Stock Logistics:

  • Maintain procedures and plans set by the warehouse manager.
  • Efficiently overseeing the loading, unloading, picking, and packing orders.

Yard Upkeep:

  • Keeping the warehouse clean, tidy, and organised.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Care:

  • Serve customers promptly, ensuring they get the exact materials they need.

Departmental:

  • Maintain department procedures and stock locations, liaising with the Warehouse Manager when required.
  • Manage the warehouse phone.
  • Act as a key holder for the purposes of unlocking and locking the site.
  • Provide cover for the Warehouse Manager where needed.

Stock Management:

  • Ensure lorries are parked correctly, checking all goods in and goods out.
  • Ensure picks are ready for the morning and monitor and prioritise picking throughout the day to ensure all completed picks are processed.
  • Keep a daily log of errors and issues which need attending to.
  • Ensure stock is clearly labelled and alert the Branch Manager when items run low.
  • Carry out stock takes as required.

Safety First:

  • To correct and report any breaches of Health & Safety.

Teamwork:

  • Work closely with the Warehouse Manager, General Manager, Branch Manager and team to keep daily branch operations running smoothly.
