We're looking for a Warehouse Supervisor to join our WHSmith operation in Birmingham. As one of our department leaders, you'll be responsible for supporting either the Inbound or Outbound operation, ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient movement of products through the warehouse. You'll play a key role in developing colleagues, driving operational performance, and helping to deliver an excellent service for one of our newest retail customers.

This is a full-time, permanent role, working the afternoon shift (2pm to 10pm), any 5 days from 7. Flexibility will be required to support the needs of the operation because, after all, this is logistics!

Pay, benefits and more:

  • You’ll be paid a salary of up to £29,203 per annum, plus an additional monthly shift allowance of £243.75.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Lead, coach, and support a team of warehouse operatives to achieve productivity, quality, and service targets.
  • Ensure departmental compliance with health & safety procedures, company policies, and operational standards.
  • Carry out quality checks and monitor performance to ensure customer requirements are consistently achieved.
  • Support Shift Managers with continuous improvement initiatives and operational planning activities.
  • Use warehouse management systems and operational data to drive efficiency and support service delivery.

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Previous experience working within a warehouse environment and delivering against operational targets.
  • Experience coaching or supporting colleagues to achieve performance objectives.
  • Good understanding of warehouse operations, safe working practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong IT skills, including experience using warehouse management systems.
  • IOSH Managing Safely qualification or the willingness to work towards one.
