We're looking for a Warehouse Team Lead on the Evening/Night Shift in our brand new state of the art Belfast facility. This role will play a key part in the overall growth of the organisation along with helping to maintain our core ethos here at Sysco - keeping the customer at the heart of everything we do.

Summary

This is a supervisory position responsible for the operational and personnel activities of an assigned area of the warehouse; supervising a section of the warehouse, providing leadership and direction in order to achieve organisational goals.

The successful candidate will have experience of leading and building teams to drive best in class performance, accuracy and engagement. You will also be responsible for supporting our vision to being our customers most valued and trusted business partner.

Key Accountabilities

  • Direct supervision of order selectors, loaders, forklifts, and/or other warehouse employees.
  • Perform functional supervision including scheduling and making recommendations.
  • Monitor and control production, overtime, absences, tardiness, truck shorts, etc. within established limits.
  • Counsel, advise, and instruct warehouse employees in related policies, procedures, safety training and productivity.
  • Conduct regular coaching and counselling with warehouse employees towards the overall objective of meeting or exceeding jointly established performance goals and related activities.
  • Supervise correct selecting of product, loading of trailers and proper handling of outgoing product for on-time departure of trucks.
  • Train employees and demonstrate employee duties.
  • Conduct staff meetings and training sessions for employees.
  • Responsible for keeping the warehouse clean and orderly in compliance with HACCP and Pallas Foods standards.
  • Provide appropriate training, retraining and corrective action to prevent injuries and accidents.
  • Perform administrative duties, such as completing reports, maintaining warehouse operations records, and filing reports.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Warehouse Management role or similar supervisory role essential.
  • Excellent knowledge of warehouse procedures.
  • Experience in FMCG environment.
  • Fully flexible in relation to start and finish times to meet the needs of the business.
  • Experience in change management and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent timekeeping and attendance.
  • Exceptional communication skills with experience in building and developing teams.
  • High level of motivational and interpersonal skills, maintaining strong close working relationships.
