We supply low silica and silica free materials, as well as porcelain surfaces.
Job Opportunity
Following major expansion plans and the relocation of our Head Office and Distribution Centre, we are currently recruiting a Warehouse Team Lead for our new DC in Lutterworth, Leicestershire.
Role Description
The Warehouse Team Leader is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day warehouse operation, ensuring goods are received, stored, handled and dispatched safely, accurately and efficiently. The role provides operational leadership on the warehouse floor, allocating work, monitoring workflow and supporting colleagues to achieve daily operational targets.
Working closely with the DC Manager & our Supply Chain Co-Ordinator, the Warehouse Team Leader will ensure warehouse activities are completed in line with company procedures, health and safety requirements and customer service expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily warehouse activities to ensure operational priorities are achieved and daily productivity and service targets are met
- Allocate workloads and monitor progress throughout the shift
- Escalate operational issues, resource constraints or service risks to the DC Manager
- Support effective communication between warehouse colleagues, drivers and other departments

Warehouse Operations
- Oversee the safe receipt, storage, movement and preparation of stock
- Ensure accurate picking, packing and loading of customer orders
- Maintain stock accuracy through routine checks and cycle counts
- Ensure stock rotation is carried out in accordance with FIFO principles
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies and operational issues
- Ensure warehouse equipment is used safely and defects are reported promptly
Other
- Ensure colleagues follow safe working practices and company procedures including reporting in accordance with company procedures
- Support compliance with all warehouse operating standards and quality requirements
- Provide day-to-day guidance and coaching to warehouse colleagues
- Assist with the induction and on-the-job training of new employee
- Encourage teamwork, accountability and high standards of performance
- Share best practice and identify opportunities to improve ways of working
- Support colleagues in resolving operational challenges throughout the shift
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency and productivity
- Contribute ideas that improve customer service and operational effectiveness

Preferred Skills & Knowledge
- Previous experience in a Team Leader or Senior Warehouse Operative role
- Experience handling large, heavy or fragile products
- Experience with Over Head Gantry Crane operations
- Experience working multiple different MHE equipment
- Knowledge of Lean, 5S or continuous improvement principles
Working Conditions
- Based within a busy warehouse and distribution environment
- Frequent manual handling in accordance with safe working practices
- Regular use of forklift trucks, lifting equipment and warehouse machinery (where authorised)
- Requirement to wear appropriate PPE at all times
- Flexibility to support operational requirements during peak trading periods
