Warehouse Team Leader

Location: West Thurrock, RM20 3LB Job Length: Permanent Working Hours: 45 hours per week, 6am–2pm (Monday–Friday), with flexibility required outside these hours to meet business needs.

About the Role

As Warehouse Team Leader, you will oversee the early shift operation at Carlsberg Britvic in West Thurrock. Your focus will be on ensuring performance, accuracy, and safety while leading a team to meet customer demands—on time and in full.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead & support the night shift warehouse team to ensure smooth and efficient operations, guaranteeing on-time, in-full customer deliveries.
  • Oversee daily warehouse activities, including:
    • Picking accuracy
    • Stock control
    • Loading/unloading of vehicles (adhering to schedules)
  • Collaborate with warehouse, transport, and office teams to align operations with site objectives and deliver high-quality service for customers.
  • Monitor and investigate stock discrepancies, damages, and breakages, ensuring timely resolutions.
  • Prioritise health and safety at all times to maintain a secure working environment.
  • Lead by example to foster a respectful, productive, and positive team culture.
  • Provide operational continuity by covering for the Shift Manager and key admin activities as required.
  • Conduct team briefings, recognition, and feedback to boost engagement and performance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and share best practices across the network.

Experience & Key Attributes

Successful applicants will have:

  • Experience using IT systems including MS Office, SAP, and Microlise.
  • Supervisory or team leader experience in a warehouse environment, ideally within FMCG.
  • FLT (Forklift Truck) licence and hands-on experience in its use, including specialist attachments (e.g., clamp).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to:
    • Lead, motivate, and resolve team challenges effectively.
    • Coordinate across multiple teams to align goals.
  • An acute focus on safety and compliance.
  • Manual handling experience is desirable (full training provided during induction).
