Job Description

We are looking for a Warehouse Team Leader to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and productivity. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate a team of operatives on a daily basis, promoting a safe, productive, and positive working environment while resolving issues and escalating concerns when required.
  • Oversee and monitor picking operations within your designated area, ensuring safety, accuracy, and performance targets are achieved in line with company expectations.
  • Ensure the accurate receipt, storage, picking, and dispatch of goods using warehouse management systems and scanners, maintaining high levels of customer service and operational efficiency.
  • Operate Counterbalance, VNA, and LLOP equipment safely to load, unload, and move palletised goods, including placing pallets into racking locations.
  • Maintain stock accuracy and control through effective warehouse processes and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct routine warehouse checks, including inspections of colleagues, MHE, equipment, and work areas to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Drive compliance with all safety, operational, and housekeeping procedures, maintaining a clean, organised warehouse and ensuring equipment remains in good working order.
  • Engage with team members to encourage best practice, identify and resolve operational challenges, and support the achievement of productivity targets.
  • Take proactive steps to identify and resolve system, equipment, or facility issues, escalating where necessary to minimise operational disruption.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately, report defects promptly, and liaise effectively with transport and distribution teams to ensure seamless operational coordination.
  • Support, coach, and develop team members through regular one-to-one meetings, performance reviews, and ongoing feedback.
  • Provide clear shift handovers to ensure continuity of operations and effective communication between teams.

Requirements

  • Valid Counterbalance, VNA, and LLOP licences are preferred, but full training can be provided.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing positively within a team environment.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills, with the ability to accurately complete paperwork and use warehouse systems.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on warehouse environment.
