Role Overview

We’re recruiting for a Warehouse Team Leader to join our Jellycat operation in Swadlincote on a 12-month maternity cover contract. Working a 5 on, 2 off shift pattern (13:30 – 22:00), you'll lead warehouse colleagues, coordinate operational activity, and ensure customer expectations are consistently met.

  • Lead and coordinate daily warehouse operations, ensuring targets for productivity, quality, and service are met across your designated areas.
  • Act as the first point of escalation for operational and colleague-related issues, resolving challenges proactively to maintain workflow and customer service.
  • Monitor and analyse operational KPIs, using warehouse systems and performance data to identify improvement opportunities and drive operational excellence.
  • Promote and maintain a strong health & safety culture, enforcing compliance with company procedures, conducting observations, and supporting investigations.
  • Coach, develop, and support warehouse colleagues, sharing best practice and building a highly engaged, high-performing team.

Required Skills & Experience

To succeed at GXO, you must have:

  • Previous experience in a Team Leader, Supervisor, or similar operational leadership role within a warehouse or logistics environment.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Experience working with warehouse management systems and operational reporting tools to support decision-making and performance management.
  • A proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams while fostering positive relationships across operational functions.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach, with a focus on:
    • Customer service
    • Continuous improvement
    • Maintaining high operational standards
