Opportunity

Are you an experienced warehouse professional who is confident with stock management, warehouse systems and material handling equipment?

We’re looking for a Warehouse Technical Operative to join our team at Macphie. This is a hands-on role for someone with a strong understanding of warehouse processes who can help ensure our operation runs safely, efficiently and to the high standards expected within a food manufacturing environment.

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, you’ll play an important role in the day-to-day running of the warehouse and yard areas. Alongside operational activities, you’ll use your knowledge of systems, processes and equipment to support and train colleagues and, when required, provide cover for the Shift Manager.

Shift Pattern

The role will operate on a two-week rotating shift pattern:

  • Early Shift: 6am to 2:30pm
  • Back Shift: 2:00pm to 10:30pm

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing stock effectively, including rotation, traceability and stock accuracy.
  • Carrying out regular cycle counts and investigating any stock discrepancies.
  • Using our ERP system to support stock control, planning and wider warehouse activities.
  • Completing and maintaining accurate intake, outload and operational documentation.
  • Supporting the induction and training of new warehouse team members.
  • Deputising for the Shift Manager when required.
  • Working closely with colleagues across Operations, Planning, Engineering and Quality.
  • Helping the department achieve and improve against its operational KPIs.
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and hygiene across warehouse and yard areas.
  • Following our “clean as you go” approach and ensuring areas remain audit-ready.
  • Supporting quality processes, including non-conformance and audit requirements.
  • Working safely at all times and following Macphie’s Health & Safety policies, procedures and safe working practices.
  • Supporting the wider manufacture and movement of our food products to the required standards of safety, quality, output and hygiene.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
