Role Purpose
Working closely with the Head of Warehouse & Distribution Operations, the Warehouse Transformation & Improvement Analyst will provide hands on analytical, project management and change coordination support across warehouse and distribution operations, helping to identify, develop, coordinate and embed practical, measurable and sustainable improvements.
The role will also support the assessment, selection, implementation and optimisation of warehouse systems, including a future Warehouse Management System (WMS), coordinating requirements, solution evaluation, testing, data preparation, training and operational readiness. Overall transformation ownership, solution approval and key decisions will remain with the Head of Warehouse & Distribution Operations.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Analysis & Continuous Improvement
- Carry out detailed walkthroughs of warehouse and light manufacturing/assembly systems, processes and workflows to identify constraints, operational issues and improvement opportunities.
- Analyse operational data and use structured problem solving and root cause analysis to identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve labour and cost efficiency, and deliver practical, sustainable improvements.
- Map current state processes and support the design and implementation of improved future state processes and ways of working.
- Maintain and support the delivery of a prioritised pipeline of continuous improvement initiatives, measuring operational and financial benefits and working with operational management to ensure improvements are sustained.
- Develop clear recommendations and work with operational management to embed improvements, standard ways of working and a culture of continuous improvement.

- Gather and validate operational requirements and support the evaluation of WMS solutions against agreed functional, technical, operational and commercial criteria.
- Coordinate supplier demonstrations, system walkthroughs, solution scoring, reference checks and due diligence, providing objective analysis and recommendations to support solution selection.
- Coordinate process validation, system and user acceptance testing, training and operational readiness ahead of implementation.
- Support implementation, cutover, post go live stabilisation and ongoing optimisation of the selected solution.
Project Management & Change Coordination
- Project manage defined warehouse improvement and systems workstreams from planning through implementation and stabilisation, maintaining plans covering milestones, actions, dependencies, resources, risks and deliverables.
- Coordinate cross functional and external provider activities, monitoring progress and escalating risks, issues and decisions where required.
- Coordinate communication, colleague engagement, training and adoption to ensure new processes and ways of working are successfully embedded.
- Support the effective implementation of change while protecting safety, customer service and day to day operational performance.
Performance & Benefits
- Establish operational baselines, KPIs and success measures for agreed improvement initiatives.
- Track and measure improvements across productivity, labour efficiency, operational cost, accuracy, inventory control, capacity and customer service.
- Identify opportunities to improve cost-to-serve and resource utilisation without compromising safety, quality or service.
- Prepare clear performance updates and work with operational management to ensure improvements and associated benefits are sustained.
Essential Experience
- Good working knowledge of end-to-end warehouse operations, ideally including light manufacturing or assembly activities, and the relationship between operational performance, labour efficiency, cost and customer service.
- Strong analytical capability, with experience of operational walkthroughs, requirements gathering, process mapping and reviewing data, systems and current and future ways of working to produce practical recommendations.
- Demonstrable experience of identifying and delivering continuous improvement opportunities using structured problem solving, root cause analysis and performance data to drive measurable improvement.
- Experience supporting the assessment, selection, implementation or optimisation of a WMS or comparable operational system.
- Practical project management or project coordination experience, including managing plans, milestones, actions, risks, dependencies, priorities and stakeholder reporting.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work effectively from the warehouse floor through to senior management.
- A structured, hands on and delivery focused approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow actions through to completion.

Desirable Experience
- Experience within a B2B distribution, wholesale, manufacturing or trade focused environment.
- Exposure to supplier demonstrations, solution scoring, reference checks or systems due diligence.
- Experience of user acceptance testing, training coordination, operational readiness or post go live support.
- Formal qualification or training in business analysis, project management, change management, Lean or continuous improvement.
