Role Overview

We are looking for a Warehouse/FLT Operative to join our Leeds Solar Hub. Working Monday to Friday, starting between 07:00 - 09:00.

Job Description

As a Warehouse/FLT Person, you will work in a high-volume distribution environment, handling stock receipt and storage. This role involves working with a full range of solar offerings, including Panels and accessories.

You will pick and pack orders, using mechanical handling equipment to move palletised materials efficiently. Your responsibilities will include ensuring orders are accurate, packaged correctly, and dispatched on time, while maintaining a safe and organised work area. Handling heavy items and operating machinery safely are key aspects of the role, requiring attention to detail and a commitment to health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, check and store incoming Solar/Cable deliveries; label and put-away to correct locations to maintain stock order and traceability.
  • Pick and pack orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring correct quantities, lengths, and protection for transit.
  • Facilitate all inward and outward stock movements for the hub following company procedures and using IT/WMS systems to update inventory.
  • Carry out cycle counts and stock-takes, report discrepancies and help maintain stock integrity.
  • Use mechanical handling equipment (counterbalance forklifts, pallet trucks, etc.) safely and in line with company procedures to move palletised drums and reels.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards: ensure cables, drums, reels, and packaging are stored tidily and safely to prevent damage and trip hazards.
  • Follow all Health & Safety policies and safe working procedures at all times, including correct lifting techniques, PPE use, and safe operation of equipment.

What we are looking for...

  • LICENCE: Hold a valid in-date Counterbalance or Reach FLT Licence
  • EXPERIENCE: Proven Warehouse & FLT experience, with the ability to show good understanding of Stock Management Processes
  • 12 months minimum of Counterbalance experience
  • COMMUNICATION: Good approach to interacting with colleagues and management
