We have an opportunity for 4 Waste and Cleansing Drivers to join our Street Cleansing team and help maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout Nottingham City Centre.
Working a 4-on, 4-off shift pattern from 03:00 to 14:00, you will undertake a wide range of frontline cleansing duties. These will include road sweeping, jet washing, litter picking, emptying street litter bins, removing fly tips, cleaning graffiti and completing other environmental cleansing tasks as required.
You will drive and maintain Council vehicles, operate cleansing equipment safely and work flexibly as part of a team to provide a safe, efficient and effective service.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- A full UK driving licence for vehicles up to and including 3.5 tonnes/7.5 tonnes is desirable but not essential, further training will be given.
- Experience of driving safely and completing daily vehicle checks.
- Experience of practical, manual or outdoor work.
- A good understanding of health and safety requirements.
- The ability to safely learn and operate hand tools, powered equipment and cleansing machinery.
- The physical ability to undertake demanding work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- A flexible and reliable approach to work.
- The ability to work the advertised 03:00 to 14:00, 4-on, 4-off shift pattern, including weekends and bank holidays where applicable.
- A commitment to delivering high-quality services and treating colleagues and members of the public with respect.
