About the Role: Medical Waste Auditor
Join Tradebe, a leader in sustainable healthcare waste and environmental compliance services, supporting the NHS and private sector. We’re seeking a detail-driven, environmentally focused Medical Waste Auditor to assist healthcare organisations in improving waste segregation, compliance, and sustainability performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct waste segregation and compliance audits across NHS hospitals, clinics, and community sites.
- Assist in reviewing NHS Pre-Acceptance Audits.
- Support NHS Trusts in meeting:
- HTM 07-01 standards
- UK waste legislation
- NHS sustainability goals
- Travel to NHS sites and Tradebe facilities (Swindon, Wrexham, Glasgow), managing your own work agenda.
- Identify risks, non-conformances, and improvement opportunities.
- Produce clear audit reports with actionable recommendations.
- Deliver training to clinical/non-clinical staff on:
- Correct waste segregation
- Environmental compliance best practices
- Collaborate with NHS Estates, IPC, and Sustainability teams.
- Support clients with:
- KPI tracking
- Data reporting
- Carbon reduction initiatives
- Ensure all work aligns with ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environmental), and ISO 45001 (Health & Safety) standards.

Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in:
- Healthcare waste management or
- Environmental auditing/compliance (preferably with the NHS).
- Strong knowledge of:
- HTM 07-01 policies
- UK waste and environmental legislation.
- Technical skills:
- Proficiency in auditing, analysis, and reporting.
- Soft skills:
- Excellent communicator (comfortable engaging with all staff levels).
- Practical requirement:
- UK driving licence and willingness to frequent travel.

Desirable Qualifications/Experience
- Formal accreditation in:
- Environmental or waste management (CIWM, IEMA).
- ISO 14001 auditing experience.
- Prior training delivery experience.
