Waste Auditor

Join Tradebe, a leading provider of sustainable healthcare waste and environmental compliance services to the NHS and private sector. We’re looking for a detail-driven, environmentally focused Waste Auditor to support healthcare organisations in improving their waste segregation, compliance, and sustainability performance.

What you’ll do:

  • Conduct waste segregation and compliance audits across NHS hospitals, clinics, and community sites.
  • Assist in carrying out and review of NHS Pre Acceptance Audits
  • Support NHS Trusts in meeting HTM 07-01, UK waste legislation, and NHS sustainability goals.
  • Travel to NHS sites and Tradebe facilities (Wrexham and Glasgow) with flexibility to manage your own diary.
  • Identify risks, non-conformances, and improvement opportunities.
  • Produce clear audit reports with actionable recommendations.
  • Deliver training to clinical and non-clinical staff on correct waste segregation and environmental compliance.
  • Work closely with NHS Estates, IPC, and Sustainability teams.
  • Support clients with KPI tracking, data reporting, and carbon reduction initiatives.
  • Ensure all work meets ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.

Do you have what it takes?

Essential:

  • Experience in healthcare waste management, environmental auditing or compliance (ideally with the NHS).
  • Knowledge of HTM 07-01 and UK waste/environmental legislation.
  • Strong auditing, analytical, and reporting skills.
  • Excellent communicator, confident engaging staff at all levels.
  • UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

Desirable:

  • Environmental or waste management qualifications (CIWM, IEMA, etc.).
  • ISO 14001 auditing experience.
  • Experience delivering training.
