Plymouth City Council is looking for a dedicated and motivated Waste & Cleansing Senior Operative to join our frontline Cleansing Team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their local environment, and has experience leading others in a practical operational setting. You'll play a key role in ensuring Plymouth's streets, highways, public spaces remain clean, safe and well-maintained for residents and visitors alike.

- Support the Team Leader by directing and coordinating the daily activities of Operatives
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with legislation, Council procedures and customer care standards
- Play a key role in leading and supporting the Cleansing Team to deliver high-quality cleansing services within the City Centre and surrounding areas
- Operate and maintain specialist cleansing equipment and vehicles
- Complete vehicle checks and operational documentation
- Help resolve operational and health and safety issues
- Represent Plymouth City Council professionally at all times
Requirements
If you have a Full UK Driving Licence, experience of supervising, and you're passionate about maintaining high standards, leading by example, and helping keep Plymouth clean and safe, we'd love to hear from you.
