HGV Driver – Long-Term Ongoing Work | Workington | Whitehaven
Driver Hire Carlisle is currently recruiting for multiple HGV Drivers for long-term ongoing work with our well-known and established client in the following areas: Workington and Whitehaven. This is a great opportunity for an HGV driver looking for steady, reliable work with a possibility of Temp-perm. NEW PASSES ACCEPTED!!!!
The role involves operating a HGV Class 2 rear-wheel-drive bin wagon collecting waste bins around residential, commercial, and industrial estates, so a strong focus on safety, professionalism, and compliance is essential.
All sites have a first day induction of ½ day office/paperwork based then half day in the vehicle, and for those with minimal/no experience this will include a driving assessment.
WORKINGTON – 06:15am starts
WHITEHAVEN – 07:15am starts

- Shifts run across Monday - Friday
- Saturday overtime available
- Overtime paid after 39 hours
- £17.00 PAY ADV Monday-Friday
- £25.00 PAY ADV Saturdays /Overtime
- £33.50 PAY ADV Sundays /Bank Holidays
- Completing local and regional collections as required
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks
- Immediate starts
- Representing both the client and Driver Hire Carlisle professionally
What You’ll Need
- Full UK driving licence with Category C (Class 2) entitlement
- New Passes accepted
- Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Strong understanding of site safety and procedures
- Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
This role is ideal for an HGV driver seeking stable, long-term work with the possibility of Temp-perm after 12 weeks
