Waste Data Officer – 3 Month Contract (Potential Extension)
Location: One Friargate & Whitley Depot, Coventry
Rate: £19.67 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: 3 Month Contract (Potential Extension)
Hours: 30 Hours Per Week (Flexible Across 4 or 5 Days)
Working Pattern: Hybrid Working – Minimum 2 Office Days Per Week
Pay: Bi-weekly
Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Waste Data Officer to enhance the performance, compliance, and operational reporting within our active Waste Services team. This position is perfect for individuals with a background in waste management, recycling services, operational performance reporting, or data analysis. The successful candidate will be adept at handling extensive datasets and generating precise management information. Your contributions will be vital in meeting statutory reporting obligations, evaluating service performance, and delivering insightful data to aid decision-making processes within Waste Services.
Responsibilities
- Design and sustain performance reporting frameworks for Waste Services.
- Generate precise management information, statistics, and performance reports.
- Fulfill statutory reporting duties, including submissions to Waste Data Flow and the Environment Agency.
- Examine operational data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for enhancement.
- Assist in contract monitoring, procurement activities, and service performance evaluations.
- Manage responses to Freedom of Information requests and complaints.
- Aid in financial data management and budget oversight for residential and commercial waste services.
- Represent the Waste Services team in both internal and external meetings.
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and adherence to GDPR standards.
- Support and organize the efforts of Waste Support Assistants.

Essential Requirements
- Experience in Domestic or Commercial Waste Operations.
- Understanding of waste management, recycling services, and pertinent legislation.
- Background in supporting service performance, compliance, or operational reporting.
- Proficient in Excel and confident in data analysis.
- Familiarity with databases, reporting tools, and IT systems.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to produce precise reports and performance data.
- Possession of a full UK Driving Licence and access to a personal vehicle.

Desirable
- Experience as a Data Analyst.
- Background in Local Authority or Public Sector.
- Familiarity with waste management performance systems and regulatory reporting.
- Knowledge of Waste Data Flow reporting requirements.
- Experience in supervising or coordinating support staff.
