Are you passionate about environmental compliance, waste management and delivering high-quality public services? We are looking for a motivated and proactive Waste Disposal Technician to support the safe, efficient and compliant operation of Stirling Council's waste disposal facilities and assets.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a real impact in supporting the Council's waste management operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in monitoring licensed waste facilities, supporting environmental compliance activities, maintaining disposal infrastructure and helping to ensure regulatory requirements are met.

As a Waste Disposal Technician, you will assist in the daily planning, monitoring and operation of the Council's waste disposal assets. This role offers a varied working environment with a mixture of office-based and field-based activities. You'll regularly work across the Council's licensed waste facilities, carrying out inspections, surveys, sampling and monitoring activities.

Essential

  • HNC qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, or significant relevant experience.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and waste management regulations.
  • Good organisational and planning skills.
  • Good IT skills, including data recording and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Desirable

  • Experience of landfill site aftercare and environmental monitoring.
  • WAMITAB Level 4 Certificate of Technical Competence (CoTC).
  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent health and safety qualification.
  • Project management experience.

This role would suit someone who enjoys a combination of technical, environmental and operational work and is keen to contribute towards sustainable waste management and environmental protection across Stirling.
