Location: Greenwich, SE28 0AF
Pay: £15.00 per hour
Hours: 35 hours per week (up to 5 days, including weekends)
Shifts: 06:00–14:15
Requirement: Full UK driving licence (company vehicle provided)
About The Role
As a Waste Investigator, your primary role will be to search waste and identify evidence linked to fly-tipping and illegal dumping in the Greenwich area.
You will play a key part in gathering information, supporting investigations, and helping to improve environmental standards by identifying those responsible for waste offences.
Key Responsibilities
Waste Investigation
- Search bags of waste to identify evidence such as names, addresses, or documents.
- Investigate incidents of fly-tipping and illegally dumped waste.
- Collect and record evidence, including photographs and written reports.

Patrol & Monitoring
- Patrol designated areas to locate dumped waste and environmental issues.
- Monitor hotspots for repeat offences.
Reporting & Documentation
- Accurately record findings and submit detailed reports.
- Prepare documentation in line with procedures.
- Carry out follow-up actions where required.
Driving
- Operate a company vehicle as part of daily duties.
Public Engagement
- Speak with residents and businesses when required.
- Promote responsible waste disposal practices.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong attention to detail (essential for evidence gathering).
- Comfortable working hands-on with waste materials.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Confident working independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to learn and develop.
