Waste Management

Apply specialist waste-industry knowledge and operational expertise to oversee departmental waste management schemes, including the effective management of landfill and other disposal routes.

Use technical knowledge of waste classification, containment and transportation to ensure departmental waste movements are efficient, compliant and controlled, preventing contamination of air, land and water.

Apply current waste-sector expertise and best practice to lead the development, promotion and departmental implementation of improved waste prevention, segregation, recycling, recovery and disposal schemes.

Maintain and apply detailed knowledge of relevant waste legislation, environmental permits, duty-of-care requirements and industry standards to ensure the department remains compliant in the classification, storage, transportation, handling and disposal of waste.

Use waste-market knowledge, commercial awareness and technical judgement to develop, manage and control departmental waste budgets, ensuring value for money and appropriate service provision.

Apply analytical skills and waste-industry expertise to collate, validate and interpret operational data, producing accurate statutory, contractual and management reports within required deadlines.

Apply specialist knowledge of waste-service standards and contract management to monitor departmental service quality, supplier performance, compliance and continuous improvement across external providers.

Use technical expertise to develop clear departmental guidance, procedures, training resources and promotional materials that improve waste awareness, segregation and compliance.

Apply waste-minimisation and resource-management expertise to establish departmental improvement plans and deliver agreed waste reduction, reuse, recycling and recovery targets.

Use sound professional judgement and up-to-date industry knowledge to investigate and resolve waste-related enquiries and complaints promptly, accurately and in accordance with departmental procedures.

Act as the departmental subject-matter expert when consulting with Airbus representatives, using specialist waste knowledge to assess requirements, explain obligations and recommend compliant, practical and cost-effective solutions.

Use industry insight, technical skills and evidence-based research to develop departmental projects and contribute specialist expertise to Airbus initiatives relating to waste prevention, management and disposal.

Health & Safety

To ensure the prompt reporting to the Contract Manager & QHSE, of any building engineering or equipment defect that could give rise to safety hazards.

Maintain documentary evidence to support individual’s capabilities, both for new and existing staff that is reflected in the allocation of duties, to ensure individuals can perform tasks without risk to themselves or others.

Initiate risk assessment and as a result develop, implement and monitor safe systems of work.

Review, audit and monitor all health & safety arrangements within areas of responsibility.
